## Teaser 2919: Letters puzzle

**From The Sunday Times, 2nd September 2018** [link]

My best friend has a special birthday later this month, and I have composed a Teaser to celebrate the occasion.

First of all, I wrote that date as a single number (with the day at the start, the month in the middle and the year at the end).

Then, replacing different letters consistently with different non-zero digits, I found that the sum of

LETTERSandPUZZLEgives that number.Send in your prime value for

TEASER.

Where

a, b, callow the result to read as a valid date in September 2018 (after the date of the puzzle, which is 2nd September 2018).If the date is read as:

ab.09.2018, we have:3 ≤ ab ≤ 30; c = 0.If the date is read as:

bc.9.2018, we have:a = 0; 3 ≤ bc ≤ 30.Note that if the result of the sum is 3092018, the birthday could be on 03.09.2018 or 30.9.2018.

The following run file executes in 254ms.

Run:[ @repl.it ]Solution:TEASER = 314719.The sum is: 2133197 + 658821 = 2792018.

And so the date is 27.9.2018 (27th September 2018).
